Reason for Fame
Rembrandt is considered one of the greatest painters and printmakers in European art history and the most important in Dutch history. 

Additional Information
One of his most famous works was The Night Watch.  He produced approximately 600 paintings, 300 etchings, and 1,400 drawings.
